In 2006, the voters of Briarcliff Manor approved the borrowing of up to $4 million to expand the Library. But this does not get us all the way to the Library our community needs. The Village's plan for the new Library has always entailed a public/private partnership: public money to fund construction of the addition and provide minimal rehabilitation of the original building, and private moeny to furnish the Library and complete the restoration of the original building. The Friends of the Briarcliff Manor Public Library, Inc., a tax-exempt charity organized pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, has begun its campaign to raise $1 million for the expanded Library and Cultural Center. read more
